Akron Flux SanFrancisco Component Framework
Akron Flux
Dec 23, 2025
We have put together a generic, modular framework for designing and building scalable business applications. It emphasises reusability, clear architecture, and seamless integration - enabling rapid development of custom workflows without vendor lock-in.
It is using design patterns (Analysis Patterns by Martin Fowler?), but is also rooted in IBM SanFrancisco Component Framework - something we had worked on long time ago (back between 1999-2006) when we were involved in ERP systems.
Our framework is a library, and let’s say this is a tribute to a framework that had been way ahead of its time. The technology wasn’t there, it was perhaps a tad complicated to get it all up and running.
To develop our version of a robust framework, we’ve been thinking and working with the concepts (on and off) since 1999 - along the way we have added a lot of new and interesting technologies, methods and techniques, e.g., DSL, domain modelling, simulation, robust software libraries, language engineering, code generation, etc.
The result: a set of buildings blocks (entities and processes) to build systems as if they were LEGO® blocks - or perhaps any blocks/bricks/components of your choice.
Our guiding principles have always been about software and systems architecture, software engineering (or whatever it means today), quality and a shared understanding.
You will not find any pig in a poke, vendor lock-in, external big tech partners, nonsensical PowerPoint slides with garbage logos, or other smoke-and-mirrors BS, no vibing, no degenerative AI (if you think this is a backhanded compliment for Bleed 360 - it is).
Anyway, back to what matters: we build things that work.
No more, no less.
